BEIJING, CHINA--The 2008 Olympic organizers have opened volunteer sign-up for to individuals outside of China, and will be accepting applications through March 2008. Basic requirements include being able to speak Chinese at conversational level (if not a native speaker).

BEIJING, CHINA--A ticket website for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing is now online. The website launched last week is for Chinese residents to begin the process of buying tickets for the Games, and includes ticket information as well as pre-registration information. Tickets will begin going on sale next month, for the first of 3 phases of ticket sales: April-June 2007, October-December 2007, and April-September 2008.

The price range for swimming tickets at the National Aquatics Center are ¥100-800 (approx. US$13-104); tickets for the open water competition at the Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park are ¥30 ($4).
